Elton John will return to play Australia for the very last time in December 2019.

Promoter Michael Chugg has locked in the period from December 2019 to February 2020 for his final shows with Sir Elton. Chugg has been Elton’s long-time promoter in Australia.

Sir Elton John last toured Australia in September/October 2017 completing the tour outside Melbourne at Rochford Winery in the Yarra Valley on October 1.

In a statement at the Chugg website it is revealed, “After more than half a century on the road and an unparalleled career that has redefined the cultural landscape and seen Elton John claim his place as a true global icon, the superstar has announced details of his final ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

“The 300+ dates mark the superstar’s last-ever tour, the end of half a century on the road for one of pop culture’s most enduring performers.

“The ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour will reach Australia & New Zealand in December 2019 to February 2020. It will be the most extensive tour he’s ever done of the countries”.

Elton John’s first-ever Australian tour was on 16 October 1971 in Perth. He was back in 1974, then 1979, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1990, 1993, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2017. The farewell tour of 2017/2018 will be his 19th Australia tour, 20 if you count the year I didn’t list (1999) when his only show was at the Packer mansion in Sydney.

Sir Elton John announced his final tour in January.

The tour start in the USA in Allentown, PA on 8 September 2018.
