Frank Fairfield Announces First Oz Tour

Acclaimed US folk throwback Frank Fairfield has booked his first Australian Tour.

Frank Fairfield

He may be a young Californian but Fairfield’s rickety take on mountain folk music is decidedly last century. Or even the one before.

Fairfield was actually discovered busking, but now he’s being fawned over by the most important critics in the world – Greil Marcus, The Guardian (who said he “makes you feel sort of glad to be alive”) and Pitchfork, who gave his album Out On The Open West an 8.0, saying he “inspires trances”.

He’ll be appearing at Meredith, naturally, but he’s booked an extensive tour otherwise.

Some venues are door sales only, some from the venue now, others on sale from Oztix, and all shows with special guests.

Check out his audio sampler below.
