Melbourne band Husky has revealed that ‘Walking In Your Sleep’ will be the final single from their current album ‘Punchbuzz’.

Singer Husky Gawenda said of the song, “’Walking in Your Sleep’ is a song I wrote during a period of intense dreaming brought on by the meticulous recording of my dreams. I became obsessed with the possibilities of the dream realm – lucid dreaming, self-exploration, unlocking the unconscious – and how that would affect my waking life and perhaps more so, my writing. The more I slipped in and out of this dream realm, the less I knew the difference between dream and reality and the more they mirrored each other. If I listen back to the song now, I hear an exploration of longing that in my waking life I was trying to escape, but was wrestling with every night in my sleep.”

“We shaped much of the sonic palette for the song and stumbled upon sounds and textures that were surprising to us,” explains Gideon Priess, Gawenda’s cousin and other half of the duo. “The result is a tip of the hat to some of our favourite recording artists from the 70’s like The Doors, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd.”

Husky will play a string of festivals in Australia over summer as well as their own shows in April.
