In a statement, Fortune posted, “…so this is how it ends now…for them…xo”.

He followed that up with, “They are my friends and I feel very sad for them. It was an honour to have been a part of the bands history. Love and Mayhem.”

Fortune made his way to become lead singer of INXS for one album only after being discovered on the reality show “Rockstar: INXS.”

Fortune was the singer on ‘Switch’, the band’s only album without Michael Hutchence. It reached no. 37 in the USA and no. 9 in Australia.

Jon Farriss announced the end of INXS after 35-years last night at the final show on the Matchbox Twenty tour in Perth.
