Jackknife Stiletto, the nice surprise discovery at Red Hot Summer

Jackknife Stiletto is a band I discovered for the first time on the Red Hot Summer tour. Not because they are on the line-up, but because lead singer Annie Stoic is also part of Joan Jett’s crew.

Jackknife Stiletto are from Long Island, New York. The all-female punk trio is Punk Rock in the true sense, not the pussy punk Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy pretend to be.

‘Chronicles of Jane, Vol. 1’ was the first Jackknife Stiletto release through Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna’s Blackheart Records. One of the tracks is a cover of Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’.

The band is Annie Stoic (guitar/vocals), Mel Funk (drummer/back-up vocals), Foxy Roxy (bass). The Jane EPs will be a continuous series accompanied by a comic book illustrated by Toronto artist Becca T-R.

Listen to Jackknife Stiletto on Spotify.
