Jason Derulo has promised fans a new album is almost ready.

The 24-year-old singer’s last offering was Talk Dirty, which he released in April this year.

And Jason reveals in a new interview he is looking forward to moving on to fresh material.

‘My single Trumpets is about to drop and after that I’m going to work on some new music because I’ve been on the same album for two years now,’ Jason told the American edition of OK! Magazine. ‘I’m ready to do some new stuff. After Trumpets there will be new music.

‘I was literally just starting writing and recording yesterday. I think an album should be ready pretty soon.’

Jason spoke to OK! as he promoted the Sweet Summer Showdown. The fun contest sees the singer backing Jolly Ranchers candy against the band Karmin, whose choice confection is Twizzlers.

And the singer, who is dating fellow musician Jordin Sparks, also opened up about what he associates with the summer season.

‘I’ve Got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas reminds me of summer and always brings me back to Miami,’ Jason added.

He recently spoke about his relationship with Jordin, explaining that the pair’s joint love of food is one of their points in common.

‘We just try to do different things. We both love food,’ Jason told E! News. ‘We’re opposites, so we bring different things to the table and that keeps things really fun because her interests are not necessarily my interests.’
