The ‘Stronger’ hitmaker admits he occasionally reviews his lyrics to ensure there is no unnecessary swearing as he prefers to use expletives as a “tool” rather than just to shock.

He tweeted: “I will admit that I sometimes go back and omit cursing from my records. I like to use profanity as a tool and not a crutch.”

Kanye’s admission came after a fan questioned him on the use of the word bitch.

He wrote: “Initially was offended by anyone questioning anything in my music.

“I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes… Is the word BITCH acceptable.

“Is it acceptable for a man to call a woman a bitch even if it’s endearing.(sic)”

Kanye then tweeted a link to Lupe Fiasco’s new video for ‘Bitch Bad’ and added: “Is it ok to use bitch as long as we put BAD in front of it? Like you a BAD BITCH. (sic)”

Kanye – who has penned a track called ‘Perfect Bitch’ about his girlfriend Kim Kardashian – insisted his musings were not to make a definitive decision on language but he wanted to “think out loud” with his fans.

He added: “I’m not tweeting to say what we need and what we don’t. I just wanted to think out loud with you guys today.”
