Matchbox Twenty will head south to promote North in October with their first Australian tour in four years

Matchbox Twenty will release their forth album ‘North’ in September and then perform songs from the album for Australian fans in October and November.

Special guests for the tour will be INXS.

Matchbox Twenty have sold over 1 million albums in Australia including the 4x platinum debut album ‘Yourself Or Someone Like You’.

Singer Rob Thomas has also had two hit albums in Australia with ‘Something To Be’ and ‘Cradlesong’.

Tickets go on sale on August 31 through Live Nation.

Beth Gibbons is here as part of Rising festival to showcase her solo album, Lives Outgrown, with a seven- piece band of musicians. Gibbons last toured Melbourne 15 years ago with proponents of trip hop, Portishead, appearing at Harvest Festival. There she was bathed in the golden afternoon rays of sunlight, but now she’s obscured by stage lights in alternating hues. Her musicians are backlit and positioned either side of the stage in groups of three and the keyboardist is in the centre behind Gibbons.
