McCartney, West and Rihanna For Grammys, Madonna For BRITS

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney will perform their new single, FourFive Seconds, on this Sunday’s Grammy Awards broadcast.

For years, the artists on the Grammys would perform their nominated records but that has fallen by the wayside as the big ratings show is now used to promote new music. This year, we have Madonna, AC/DC, Tony Bennett and now the Rihanna trio who, in most cases, aren’t even nominated, up on the stage. In the case of this group, Kanye West is up for two awards and Rihanna for one, but not for FourFive Seconds.

The Grammys air this Sunday, February 8, from 8:00 to 11:30 on CBS.

Joining the Grammys in their bid to push the nominated music into the background is the Brit Awards who have booked Madonna for this year’s program. She announced her appearance via her Twitter account “Hello to all my UK Rebel Hearts ❤️❤️❤!!! See you at the Brits on Feb 25th”.

Her new album, Rebel Heart, will be out on March 10 so the two awards show performances should give it quite a bit of exposure.

Other performers for the Brits include Take That, Royal Blood, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Paloma Faith, leading both Noel Gallagher and Kasabian to complain that the producers of the show have a conspiracy against rock bands performing.
