Melbourne Museum will launch a series of adults only nights with a soundtrack from Dorsal Fins.

From July 7 (and then the first Friday of every month) the museum will open from 6pm for the adult view of the exhibitions with live music.

Dorsal Fins’ frontman Jarrad Brown said the Melbourne Museum was the perfect venue for a party, “Who doesn’t want to dance with the Dinosaurs? I can’t wait to see the iconic spaces of Melbourne Museum come alive after dark. We’re excited to be the first band to play at Nocturnal. I have no doubt Melbournians will love these events.”

A DJ set from Jabuki will start the rhythms.

Other museum activations will include:
• Talk stations – Museum Victoria’s Collection Manager, Vertebrates will be showcasing the specimens below during the night. All are nocturnal themed!
• Collections – Museums Victoria’s History & Technology collection team will bring out some rarely seen “nocturnal” treasures from the dark recesses of collection cabinets to share.
• Palaeontology – Dr Rolf Schmidt (Collection Manager, Invertebrate Palaeontology) will be bringing out amazing fossils with fossil factoids throughout the night.

Tickets can be secured at the special early bird rate of $25 or for $35 on the door.
