Melbourne’s Shakespeare Pop-up Globe Extends Until The End Of January

The Pop-up Globe, Melbourne’s most unusual entertainment event, has been so successful that it has been extended a further two weeks in January.

The Pop-Up Globe is an exact replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre from London 200 years ago.

The Melbourne only event has been supported by the Victorian government as a tourist attraction for the state. Victoria’s Minister for Tourism John Eren captured the moment stating, “To go, or not to go: there is no question”.

The new dates are planned to give families and students an extra chance to see the works of Shakespeare as they were originally staged before they return to school. The new dates also coincide with another iconic Melbourne event, the Australian Open at the Tennis Centre near the Sidney Myer Music Bowl where the Pop-Up Globe as been positioned.

The pop-up Globe is presented by Live Nation Australia.
