Adam Lambert Hopes His Music Helps Fans

Singer Adam Lambert wants to give people strength with his music, and hopes he can encourage listeners to be more honest with themselves.

Lambert soared to fame after finishing as runner-up on the eighth series of American Idol in 2009. Earlier this year (15) he released his third album The Original High, which debuted at the number three spot on the Billboard 200 list.

Adam describes the record as a very personal venture, which he hopes will give fans an insight to his more sensitive side.
“I think on the previous album I got to be a little bit more kind of over the top conceptually,” he explained to Glamoholic.com. “This one is a little bit more honest I think.”

One track in particular, called There I Said It, reflects this open outlook Adam has. The star has been openly gay since entering the limelight, and hopes people will find the same confidence in themselves that he holds by listening to this tune.

“It’s not always easy but I think a song like that is meant to try to give people strength,” he explained. “I think what I love about it is that the lyrics could be interpreted in so many different ways on that kind of song. It could be about a relationship, it could be about a relationship with a family member or a relationship with the public, which is I think the way I relate to it the most. I think that sometimes it takes a lot of extra energy to hide what and who you are.”

His talents haven’t gone unnoticed; Adam has been lucky enough to perform with rock band Queen and recently went on the road with them in South America. It was a phenomenal experience for Adam and the tour coincided with a special occasion for the band.

“It was amazing!” he gushed. “I had never been to South America before so it was a real thrill to meet the fans there and to perform for them with Queen. Rock In Rio was a special moment because it had been 30 years since Queen performed there. I hope I get to go back again soon!”
