Courtney Barnett Wins APRA Songwriter of the Year

Melbourne’s Courtney Barnett has been honoured with the coveted Songwriter of the Year award at the 2016 APRA Music Awards.

The APRA Awards, Australia’s credible music awards, were handed out in Sydney on Tuesday night.

Courtney Barnett has scored international acclaim for her debut album ‘Sometimes I Sit and Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit”. The album reached no 4 in Australia, no 16 in the UK and no 20 in the USA as well as chart positions in Ireland, Netherlands and New Zealand. She also received A Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and won four ARIA Awards from eight nominations.
