Post Malone’s Plane Lands Safely After Mid Air Drama

Post Malone is safe and sound after a five-hour mid-air nightmare.

The rapper was among the 16 passengers on board the Gulfstream Aerospace GLF-4, which took off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey just before 11am local time on Tuesday (21Aug18), en route to Luton, England, when the tires of the private plane exploded, forcing the pilot to circle back and alert air traffic control officials he would be performing an emergency landing.

He was told to head for Massachusetts to burn off more fuel for a safer possible crash landing. Reports suggest the pilot was initially told to land at Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield, Massachusetts, but was then diverted to Stewart International Airport, located north of New York City.

Fans raced to the airport to watch the plane land without incident.

Tuesday’s air scare came hours after Post Malone performed at the 2018 MTV VMAs with 21 Savage and Aerosmith. The tattooed rapper also picked up the Song of the Year trophy at the ceremony for Rockstar.

Post Malone is scheduled to perform at the Leeds and Reading festivals in England over the weekend (24-25Aug18), before he heads to Paris on Sunday for the Rock en Seine event.

Among those hoping for a happy end to the story was rocker Bret Michaels, who tweeted: “My heart goes out 2 @PostMalone/his entourage as their tires blew on takeoff. I’m about 2 takeoff on my plane 2 Boise, sending thoughts/prayers to #PostMalone & his crew 4 a safe landing.

“They need 2 dump fuel & lighten the load. Pilots will try to reduce fuel risk on landing (sic).”
