Rod Stewart returns with his first album of original songs in almost twenty years with Time, coming May 7 from Capitol Records.

Stewart wrote and produced 11 of the 12 tracks on the album including the first single, She Makes Me Happy, which is now available for digital download. A second track, Finest Woman, will be released to radio in advance of the new album on April 8.

Also available at both iTunes and Amazon is the pre-order for the album. Those who place their order at iTunes will be able to download three bonus tracks, covers of Love Has No Pride and Corina Corina along with a Stewart original, Legless.

Stewart explained “Something about that process of reviewing my life for the book reconnected me and that was it: I was away. Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head. Next thing I knew, I had a song called ‘It’s Over’ about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn’t done and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record, which had never happened before.”
