Australian supergroup The Dead Daisies have made The Beatles ‘Helter Skelter’ one of their own after performing the song for the 70th time.

The number of performances now ranks The Dead Daisies version as the 4th most performed version ever of the song.

The Beatles never once player ‘Helter Skelter’ live. The song, featured on the 1968 ‘The Beatles’ (aka The White Album), was released two years after the band stopped performing altogether in 1966.

The song has been performed 186 times by Paul McCartney but even McCartney didn’t start performing his own song until 2004. It has been a constant of the McCartney setlist for the past 10 years.

The band that has played ‘Helter Skelter’ the most times live is Motley Crue who have performed the track 340 times, but not since 2011.

In their day Siouxie and the Banshees played ‘Helter Skelter’ 105 times. The last time was in 1992. Siouxie and the Banshees broke up in 2006.

The Dead Daisies version of ‘Helter Skelter’ features on their new ‘Face I Love’ EP.

The Dead Daisies are currently on tour with Kiss and Def Leppard in the USA. Their next show is Saturday, August 9 in Scranton, PA.
