The Studs Funky Feet Was An Unused Abba Song

by Paul Cashmere on October 10, 2019

in News

Here is some 43 year old news for you. Who knew Australia’s The Studs 1977 pop hit ‘Funky Feet’ was written by Abba’s Benny Anderssen and Bjorn Ulvaeus? Well, apparently, everyone except me.

‘Funky Feet’ was a Top 10 hit in Australia for The Studs in 1977.

‘Funky Feet’ was a hit in Sweden a year earlier for Svenne & Lotta.

Benny and Bjorn wrote the song for Abba to be used on the ‘Arrival’ album but it was rejected because of its similarity to ‘Dancing Queen’.

You can hear the music of Abba by Babba this Saturday night at Memo Music Hall in St Kilda.
