Tom Waits To Announce Something Pirate-y

Living legend Tom Waits has something “coming August 7”. And he’s dressed as a pirate.

NME have alerted Waits fans to a “cryptic picture” posted by the barrelhouse bluesman which features him in an eye-patch and wielding a cutlass, superimposed with the message “Coming August 7”.

They guess that it’s a tour, which would certainly be welcome. They note that he hasn’t toured since 2008’s Glitter And Doom run of shows in the US and Europe.

Ergo, he hasn’t toured the songs from his very well-received Bas As Me album from last year. And he hasn’t exactly been prolific over the last decade, Bad As Me being his first album in seven years, so we doubt it’s a new album announcement.

We’ll just have to wait a week.
