Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo will return to Australia in March 2027 for her ESTRUS TOUR, with shows confirmed for Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. The four-date run will follow the worldwide release of her sixth studio album, ESTRUS, on September 18, 2026, with the Australian concerts scheduled for March 1, 3, 5 and 7.

The Australian dates form part of a global tour supporting ESTRUS, which begins in Nashville on September 15 before moving through North America, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Europe. Australian audiences will see Tove Lo perform material from the new album alongside songs from a catalogue that has established her as one of contemporary pop’s more direct and unconventional voices.

Tove Lo said she was looking forward to returning to Australia, describing the forthcoming concerts as more emotional and physically intense than previous visits.

The Australian tour will also introduce audiences to SALTY, who will provide support at all four shows. SALTY emerged with her debut EP the other side and the track “See U In 3”, followed by “Touch Grass” and “The Eye”. Her songwriting has focused on turning personal experiences into concise pop songs, positioning her as an emerging Australian voice to watch.

ESTRUS takes its title from the biological term for the period when a female mammal is sexually receptive. The album continues Tove Lo’s longstanding interest in intimacy, sexuality, vulnerability and the less polished aspects of emotional life, while drawing more explicitly on the Swedish indie dance music that shaped her early musical identity.

The record was made with longtime collaborator Ludvig Söderberg, alongside Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, and features a collaboration with Belgian artist Stromae. Recording took place in Los Angeles, Stockholm and a small Swedish fishing village where Tove Lo spent childhood summers and where she also worked on her previous album, Dirt Femme.

Returning to that location brought memories of childhood, depression, an eating disorder, relationships, family conflict and loss back into the writing process. Those experiences inform an album that continues the autobiographical approach that has been central to Tove Lo’s songwriting.

The ESTRUS TOUR setlist is expected to include the released songs “I’m Your Girl Right?”, “des fleurs” and “DNH”. “I’m Your Girl Right?” was released as the album’s lead single in May 2026, followed by the other material ahead of the album’s September release.

Tove Lo’s career has developed around a combination of mainstream pop songwriting and unusually candid personal material. She first gained international attention through her 2014 debut album Queen of the Clouds, which followed the Truth Serum EP and contained “Habits (Stay High)”. The song became her defining international breakthrough, reaching number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.

“Talking Body” followed as another major single, while Tove Lo’s subsequent albums Lady Wood, Blue Lips and Sunshine Kitty expanded her electronic pop sound. Sunshine Kitty produced “Glad He’s Gone”, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video.

Her songwriting career has operated alongside her recording work. Tove Lo has co-written material for artists including Lorde and Ellie Goulding, with “Homemade Dynamite” and “Love Me Like You Do” among her songwriting credits. She has also recorded collaborations with artists including Flume, Charli XCX, Coldplay, Nick Jonas, Kylie Minogue and Alesso.

In 2022, Tove Lo released Dirt Femme, her first album following the launch of her own Pretty Swede Records label. The record further developed themes of femininity, independence and identity while maintaining the club-oriented production that has become a defining element of her work.

ESTRUS represents the next chapter in that catalogue.
