Wiz Khalifa Defends His Derogatory Lyrics

Wiz Khalifa has defended his use of offensive terms for women in his lyrics.

Wiz Khalifa’s tracks don’t necessarily come across as respectful towards women, often referring to them as a “bitch” like in his song Hustlin’, containing the line: “Throw a stack at that bitch ass”.

But he’s adamant those ladies he’s calling out deserve to be labelled the offensive word due to their behaviour, whereas he’d never use it on any of his female family members.

‘It’s a double-edged sword,” he told Elle UK, noting he loves women and sees them as the smartest creatures on earth who need to be “empowered” and respected. “But some of the women we see in our (hip-hop) community – a lot of the ones that we talk about, who we don’t have respect for – are the ones who come out in the music…

“There are women in the industry who use what they know to get ahead. We use our words, they use their bodies – it’s an understanding. I would never call my mom a b**ch, my little sister a bitch… I would never disrespect a woman just because she’s a woman, you know?”

Wiz also tries to set a good example with this outlook for his son Sebastian, three, who he has with ex-wife Amber Rose – one of the women he’s referred to as a “bitch” in his songs.

Before Amber tied the knot with Wiz in 2013 she dated Kanye West for around two years. Like the Stronger rapper, Wiz has a clothing line of his own, which Kanye criticised on Twitter earlier this year (16) along with slamming his musical material. With tension between the two artists rife, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Wiz has no intention of wearing something his nemesis designed.

“No. Never,” Wiz said. “I don’t know him. I’m just going to leave it at that… I met him once. Yeah. He was cool in person, but the stuff that he says when I’m not around, I don’t like that… You can’t trust people like that. I just stay away.”
