Your Smith ‘Wild Wild Woman’ Inspired by Laurel Canyon

Caroline Smith (aka Your Smith) may just every well be the latest of the “ladies of the canyon’.

Joni Mitchell penned the expression ‘Ladies of the Canyon’ for her third album in 1972. It was a reference to the female music inhabitants of Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, including Joni, Michelle Phillips and Mama Cass.

Caroline is from Minneapolis but is now very much a lady of the canyon. Her sound reaches back to the sounds that made the California sound what it became in the early 70s with an added touch of Crow and Morissette.

‘Wild Wild Woman’ was produced by Tommy English (Broods, K. Flay, BØRNS), and is released via Neon Gold Records (HAIM, Charli XCX, Broods), the label co-founded by LPX and MS MR’s Lizzy Plapinger.
