Sting has paid more than $800,000 to his former Police bandmates Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland after acknowledging historic underpayments, as a long running dispute over royalties moves through the High Court in London. Court filings confirm the payment was made after the guitarist and drummer launched legal proceedings last year against Sting and his publishing company, Magnetic Publishing.

Without a doubt Andy Summers is a bona-fide legend. Those five albums as lead guitarist for The Police are five of the greatest albums on the rock era. There is no questioning the credentials of Andy Summers but ‘The Cracked Lens + A Missing String’ lost me.

‘I Advance Masked’, Andy Summers’ first project outside The Police, will be expanded to a three disc edition for release in September.

Andy Summers has always been a jazzman. For a brief time from 1977 to 1985 he was sidetracked into a rock and roll band. Mind you the band was The Police and is considered one of the greatest rock bands ever.
