American indie folk artist Iron & Wine will bring his quietly powerful storytelling and richly textured soundscapes back to Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2026, with new shows confirmed for Hobart, Auckland and Wellington.

US indie folk songwriter Iron & Wine will return to Australia in February and March 2026 for his first visit in eight years. Presented by Handsome Tours and Double J, the tour will feature headline shows in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, as well as festival appearances at WOMADelaide and the Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Double J was a Sydney only radio station when it first went to air at 11am on 19 January 1975. The first song played was Skyhooks ‘You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed’ chosen because it was Australian, it was rebellious (because the song was banned at the time which reflected the rebellious image of the station) and being part of the ABC was not subject to the licencing laws of the commercial radio stations.

The ABC’s DAB+ radio station Double J may soon head to the FM band. The Australian Federal Government has revealed plans to fund a feasibility study to take Double J onto FM frequencies around Australia.

Sarah McLeod has been recruited by Double J as the radio station’s Artist In Residence for May.

Archie Roach has been named Double J Australian Artist of the Year at the annual J Awards.

Triple J has announced its J Awards for 2018. Middle Kids, Gurrumul, Kwame and Mojo Juju are this year’s winners.
