Bleak Squad continue the surge behind their debut album Strange Love, announcing additional Australian tour dates as the supergroup prepares for a headline run, festival appearances and a support slot with Pulp.

Melbourne’s newly formed art-rock collective Bleak Squad—comprised of four luminaries from the Australian music scene—have unveiled their third single and music video, “Blue Signs”, ahead of their debut album Strange Love.

Former Magic Dirt, now Bleak Squad member and most often out solo Aussie artist Adalita has been named Musician of the Month by Australian Musician for August 2025.

The debut album from Bleak Squad is coming in August. Who, you ask? Bleak Squad is a new Melbourne indie rock supergroup featuring Mick Turner (Dirty Three, Mess Esque), Mick Harvey (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, The Birthday Party), Adalita (Magic Dirt) and Marty Brown (Art of Fighting).

Adalita (Magic Dirt), Diesel, Steve Kilbey (The Church), Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures) and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah/Bob Evans) will perform the music of John Lennon for the Give Peace A Chance shows in Australia in July.

‘Rooms for the Memory’, the sole Michael Hutchence solo hit, has been covered by Magic Dirt’s Adalita, Bad Seed Mick Harvey and Andrew Duffield of Models as a benefit record for Ollie Olsen.

Adalita will finally release new music in December with ‘Inland’ to become her first album since ‘All Day Venus’ in 2013.
