Courtney Love Victim Of French Protests

Courtney Love has claimed she’d be safer in Baghdad than France after her car was attacked by protestors.

The 50-year-old singer landed at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport this morning and quickly became embroiled in the clash, which saw taxi drivers protesting against new firm Uber.

Courtney gave a blow-by-blow account of the incident on Twitter, even calling on rapper Kanye West for support.

“Dude @kanyewest we may turn back to the airport and hide out with u.picketers just attacked our car #ParisUberStrike,” she wrote.

“they’ve ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage. they’re beating the cars with metal bats. this is France?? I’m safer in Baghdad (sic).”

Taxi drivers have been blockading roads in the French capital and overturning cars, with riot police eventually called in to help with the growing tension.

Courtney was incensed by the scenes and even blasted French President François Hollande, insisting cops had been far too slow to deal with the mounting strain.

“François Hollande where are the f**king police??? is it legal for your people to attack visitors? Get your ass to the airport. Wtf???” she wrote.

“paid some guys on motorcycles to sneak us out, got chased by a mob of taxi drivers who threw rocks, passed two police and they did nothing (sic).”

Police have been trying to overcome the situation all over France, with varying degrees of success.

There were major traffic jams around airports this morning due to the protest, with tear gas and batons used. Taxi drivers have been driving slowly to cause problems and blocking entrances to airports and train stations.

People being ferried around in Uber cabs have seen their cars rocked by protestors and even overturned, with Courtney posting a video on Instagram showing her driver attempting to appease some furious men.

“how on earth are these people allowed to do this? the first car was destroyed, all tires slashed and beat with bats, these guys trying to open the doors and the cops are doing nothing?? French Taliban? civil reform needed in France?? I want to go home (sic),” she captioned it.

The taxi drivers are unhappy about the cheaper rates available via Uber, with the same thing being protested about in countries such as the UK in the past.

Luckily Courtney is now safe, and she made sure to thank the men who helped her out of the situation publicly.

“we got out after being held hostage for an hour thanks to these two guys. I’m scared out of my wits. Mr. François Hollande president or libertine? I can’t believe this really just happened. love French people but your government blows #happytobealive #parisuberstrike wtf?? (sic)” she wrote next to an Instragram picture of her with men in motorbike helmets.
