Daryl Braithwaite is recovering after his recent hospital admission but will return to active duty on January 26.

The legendary singer was side-tracked when he was forced to cancel this weekend’s two Mornington Red Hot Summer concerts after taking ill after the South Australian performance last weekend.

He will return to work for the Australia Day Riva performance in Melbourne with Jimmy Barnes and Jon Stevens and then rejoin the Red Hot Summer tour after Australia Day.

On Monday Daryl issued a statement saying, “I unfortunately and regrettably have had to cancel this week’s shows due to illness and sudden admission into Hospital.

“I am disappointed that I won’t be able to perform at the Australian Open
Tennis tonight nor the Mornington Peninsula RHST shows this weekend.

“I am hoping to make a speedy recovery and be back doing shows very soon”.

The Black Sorrows will fill in for Daryl Braithwaite this weekend at Mornington on Saturday and Sunday.

It is believed Daryl’s friends may also perform a tribute in his honour at the shows this weekend.
