3AW’s Ken Francis witnessed what happened and tells Noise11.com, “The band were second on the bill on Saturday and opened with ‘Graffiti Crimes’ and ‘Castaway’. As Murray started playing the intro for the third song, ‘But You Don’t Care’, the keyboards appeared to go haywire. As it got worse Murray struggled with the equipment as band members and crew came to help”.

“Murray was reaching around behind his keyboards and appeared somewhat confused about what to do next. As he struggled he began sinking to his knees – a roadie shoved a seat under him but he continued to collapse into the arms of the crew who trying to assist with the keyboard problem. He was taken from the stage as Steve Balbi apologized and explained Murray appeared to be fainting and that Mi-Sex could not continue”.

Mi-Sex reformed with Noiseworks/Electric Hippies member Steve Balbi on vocals initially for a benefit gig in New Zealand following the earthquake.

"Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
