Star Australian soprano Mirusia will mark the 50th anniversary of The Seekers with a magnificent tribute ‘A Salute to the Seekers’ coming via Robert Rigby’s Ambition Entertainment in 2019.

Mirusia met The Seekers in 2011 when they toured together with André Rieu. In a statement she said, “It was an incredible experience for me to learn from them first hand and to sing together with them on stage. All four of them are so down to earth and such lovely, genuine people with hearts of gold. This album is a salute to the four people who inspired me and gave me encouragement to continue my dream of being a singer”.

The Seekers are also huge fans of Mirusia. “What an amazing tribute Mirusia has paid us by recording these Seekers classics, interpreting them in her unique style, and bringing the wonderful songs of Tom Springfield, Paul Simon, Bruce Woodley, Judith Durham and David Reilly, and so many other gifted songwriters to her classical-crossover audience.

Mirusia with The Seekers

“How fortunate we are to have lived long enough to see the seekers music transcend so many generations, and how gratifying it is to know that we will leave our legacy in the hands of exceptional singers like Mirusia Louwerse…”

For 33 year old Mirusia The Seekers have been around longer than she has. “Growing up in Australia the music of The Seekers was not only a part of my childhood, but I truly believe it helped to form me as an artist. At school we sang “I Am Australian”, a song that unites all of the people of Australia as one. This particular song was one I have sung many times during my career at so many different events and concerts.”
