As part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival the event Music, Mirth & Mayhem will return with proceeds going to kids charity the Mirabel Foundation.

The show ill feature host Lawrence Mooney and feature Jimeoin, Luke McGregor, Fringe Wives Club, Zach & Viggo (USA), along with music from Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), The Broads and Gawurra.

“It’s my 17th year hosting Music, Mirth & Mayhem,” says Lawrence Mooney. “And, I wouldn’t miss it. Not only does it raise funds for the very deserving Mirabel Foundation, it’s a great night out for Festival lovers. The room is packed and I get to share the love with all those talented performers who give so generously to support Mirabel. What more could you ask for? Don’t miss it!”

The Mirabel Foundation is the only organisation in Australia specifically addressing the needs of children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use. Supporting children up to 17 years of age, Mirabel provides advocacy, referral, research, practical and emotional assistance to the children and their kinship carers. Programs include early intervention and respite, recreational experiences, therapeutic groups, educational assessment and tutoring, family camps and events, youth support for those experiencing crisis and carer support groups.

“We’re currently supporting over 1,500 children and have assisted 3,640 children since its establishment in 1998,” says Mirabel CEO, Jane Rowe. “Our annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival fundraiser, Music, Mirth & Mayhem, reflects the extraordinary support Mirabel receives from the entertainment industry. With five new children referred to Mirabel weekly, the generosity of Lawrence Mooney and everyone involved in this annual fundraiser helps ensure that we never turn a child away.”
