ABC To Release Sequel To The Lexicon Of Love

ABC have recorded a sequel to their classic ‘The Lexicon of Love’ after 34 years.

For the new album Martin Fry brought back composer Anne Dudley, who arranged the strings on the original Lexicon. Dudley has co-written two new songs ‘The Love Inside The Love’ and ‘Brighter Than The Sun’. Also contributing to the 10 new songs are Grammy award winner Rob Fusari (Beyonce, Lady Gaga) and film composer Charlie Mole and Marcus Vere. Production is by Gary Stevenson and Martin Fry.

The video for the first single ‘Viva Love’ has been filmed by director Julien Temple in the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, the same venue where they shot the promo for ‘Poison Arrow’ in ’82. Julien Temple went on to make a feature length movie starring ABC entitled ‘Mantrap’, released in ’83.

Fry had been working on this sequel for four years. “We performed a show at the Albert Hall a couple of years ago to mark the 30th anniversary of The Lexicon of Love. It struck me there and then that it was time to make a sequel,” singer Martin Fry said in a statement. “To explore those themes once again and to look at love through the eyes of a man in later life. Now the years have passed, my perspective on life and love has changed. I wanted to make an album that reflected that.”

The original ‘Lexicon of Love’ reached no 1 in the UK, no 9 in Australia and no 24 in the USA.

The album also generated three hit songs ‘Poison Arrow’, ‘The Look of Love’ and ‘All Of My Heart’.

Four Corners Sony Music Expose Is Just The Tip of the Iceberg

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of ‘Trial By Media’. The objective for a television program is eyeballs, not a legal conclusion. That is precisely what a huge brand name like Sony Music can deliver. Four Corners simply opened a door and allowed viewers a peak inside the entertainment industry and it was pretty ugly.
