In his blog, Jim Kerr wrote, “I need to check but a reliable source informs me that during this coming trip, Simple Minds may well be playing gig number 3,000. That is quite a thought, really. As I have been saying repeatedly recently, back when we started the band, our goal, aim, whatever you want to call it, was to become one of the great live bands. Taking ourselves around the world repeatedly while attempting to prove it. That challenge continues with each and every gig and we look forward to so much more, beginning in the weeks ahead.”

INXS, Simple Minds and The Church will start their Australian tour in Melbourne on November 30.

Dates are:

November 30, Melbourne, Palais Theatre
December 1, Yarra Valley, Rochford Wines (A Day On the Green)
December 2, Adelaide, Entertainment Centre
December 4, Perth, Kings Park (A Day On the Green)
December 7, Sydney, Entertainment Centre
December 8, Hunter Valley, Bimbadgen Winery, (A Day On the Green)
December 9, Mt Cotton, Sirromet Wines, (A Day On the Green)
December 12, Wollongong, Entertainment Centre

Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
