Simple Minds and Gary Numan's Australian and New Zealand tour for 2027 is now officially on sale, with arena dates confirmed across Australia and New Zealand as part of the band's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Simple Minds will return to Australia in February 2027 for a five-date arena tour celebrating five decades of music, with electronic music pioneer Gary Numan joining the tour as special guest.

When Simple Minds released Once Upon A Time on 21 October 1985, they were no longer the underground art-rock outfit that had emerged from Glasgow's post-punk scene in the late 70s. By this point, they were international chart-toppers, riding the success of Don't You (Forget About Me), the soundtrack anthem that had made them household names across America. But Once Upon A Time would do more than cement their fame, it would define the sound of mid-80s stadium rock and mark the band's full transformation from cult heroes to global icons.

This week at the New York Festivals International Radio Awards in NYC 'Jim Kerr on Jim Morrison' was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Documentary in the Culture & The Arts category.

When Simple Minds got their start in 1977, Jim Kerr was only 17. He says he had no idea then that he would be still doing it in his 60s.

It has been more than ten years since Simple Minds set foot on North American shores for the purpose of a tour. That drought comes to an end starting October 15 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
