Sombr will return to Australia and New Zealand in April 2027 for his first headline arena dates in the region, following his 2025 debut and the international success of I Barely Know Her.

American singer-songwriter Sombr will return to Australia and New Zealand in April 2027 for the You Are The Reason Tour, expanding his regional run from the sold-out shows and festival appearances that marked his first visit in December 2025 to headline performances at major arenas.
The five-date tour, presented by Frontier Touring, begins at Adelaide’s AEC Arena on Tuesday 13 April before continuing to Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, with the Australian leg concluding at Afterpay Arena on Thursday 22 April. Sombr will then travel to New Zealand for a final performance at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Tuesday 27 April.
Sombr continues to build on the international success of his debut album, I Barely Know Her, released in August 2025. The album established Sombr as a significant new presence across pop and alternative music, while singles including “Back To Friends”, “Undressed” and “12 To 12” extended his reach across international streaming and singles charts.
Born Shane Michael Boose in New York City in 2005, Sombr began making music with GarageBand before moving to Logic Pro and developing his production skills through online tutorials. He subsequently built a recording setup in his bedroom on New York’s Lower East Side, writing and producing much of his early material himself.
His first single, “Nothing Left To Say”, was released in 2021, followed by the 2023 EP In Another Life. A viral breakthrough came with “Caroline”, which helped lead to his signing with Warner Records.
The major turning point came in 2025 when “Back To Friends” and “Undressed” gained substantial attention. Both songs entered the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Global 200, while “Undressed” reached the top five in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. “Back To Friends” also reached the top five in Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
The success translated into a rapid expansion of Sombr’s live career. His first solo tour was scheduled across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, following earlier supporting appearances with Nessa Barrett and Daniel Seavey.
I Barely Know Her was released on 22 August 2025 and features “Back To Friends”, “Undressed”, “We Never Dated” and “12 To 12”. Tony Berg, who had previously worked with Sombr on In Another Life, co-produced the album.
The record’s success was accompanied by major industry recognition. Sombr received a Best New Artist nomination at the 68th Grammy Awards and won Best Alternative Video at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards for “Back To Friends”. He also received further nominations and recognition across international music awards.
In 2026, Sombr continued releasing new material outside the debut album campaign. “Homewrecker” was issued in February, followed by “My Body Isn’t Ready” in June. According to the tour announcement, “My Body Isn’t Ready” reached the Top 10 in charts worldwide and matched Sombr’s previous UK chart performance.
His live profile has also expanded internationally, with performances at festivals including Coachella, Sziget and Lollapalooza, alongside headline touring across several territories.
Sombr’s December 2025 Australian and New Zealand visit provided his first opportunity to establish a live audience in the region. The 2027 tour represents a substantial increase in venue scale, moving into arena headline performances in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.
The progression reflects the speed of Sombr’s international growth. At the time of his first regional visit, his audience was being driven largely by the breakout singles. By the 2027 tour, he will have an established album catalogue, additional singles and substantially greater live experience behind him.
The Australian dates also come after Sombr’s songs achieved significant local chart exposure. “Back To Friends”, “Undressed” and “12 To 12” all performed strongly in Australia, giving the 2027 tour a catalogue that extends beyond a single breakout recording.
Tickets will be available through the authorised ticketing agencies listed by Frontier Touring. Frontier Members receive first access through a presale beginning Monday 7 September at 10am local time, with general ticket sales commencing Tuesday 8 September at 12pm local time.

General ticket sales begin Tuesday 8 September at 12pm local time.
All shows are licensed all ages. Patrons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The events are recommended for patrons aged 16 and over.
