Stephen Colbert picked a Simon & Garfunkel covers act Troubled Waters to perform in his inaugural week for the Late Show and the lead singer looked a lot like Paul Simon.

Colbert explained to Troubled Waters leads singer (who looked a lot like Paul Simon), “I’ve always wanted to do the whistling solo to ‘Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard’, so I called Paul Simon (or had somebody call his person). I said ‘can I do that?’ and he said ‘I will not do that with you’.

“Have you ever met him?” Colbert asks the singer, who we later learn whose name is Al. Did we also mention he also looks a lot like Paul Simon?

‘Technically no,” answered Al.

“He seems like a Jerk,” Colbert says. “Just say ‘Paul Simon is a Jerk’.

“Paul Simon is a bit of a of a Jerk,” responds Al, who looks a lot like Paul Simon.
