Anyone with a familiarity with the broad Australian accent will have no troubles reading Poltz’s new album as ‘1999’, and fittingly it was recorded in Perth.

He chuckles about the title, “I came to Australia many moons ago and recently I asked one of the promoters what year it was when I first came over. He said, ‘Oi reckon it was about Noineen Noiny Noin’. So I thought to myself, holy heck! That’s a great title for my album!”

The album has just been released on iTunes and fans who come see Poltz on his tour will be able to grab a special edition titled Noineen Noiny Noin And A Haff (with a six-track bonus disc).

Poltz kicked off his tour in Queensland this week, dropped into Adelaide last night, and has Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Perth to go. Check out his exuberant blog of the tour so far here.
