The Rolling Stones Resume Tour In Adelaide SETLIST

by Paul Cashmere on October 25, 2014

in Live,News

The Rolling Stones have played their first Australian show in Adelaide since postponing the 14 On Fire tour earlier this year following the death of Mick Jagger’s girlfriend.

Adelaide Oval hosted The Rolling Stones with special guest Jimmy Barnes opening the show.

The shows also mark the first time Mick Taylor has toured Australia with the Stones since 1972.

Mick Taylor inherited the Stones guitarist role after the death of founding member Brian Jones. He was with the Stones from the live ‘Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out’ album (1969) until ‘Its Only Rock N Roll’ (1974). Taylor was replaced by Ronnie Wood, who after 39 years with the band is still considered “the new boy”.

Before every show, The Stones use their website to solicit votes for a request spot. Adelaide was treated to the Bob Dylan classic ‘Like A Rolling Stone’, covered by the Stones in 1995 for their MTV Unplugged show released officially as the ‘Stripped’ album.
