The Rolling Stones To Reissue Iconic Sticky Fingers Album

The Rolling Stones have dug into the archive to resurrect one of their biggest albums, Sticky Fingers, in Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions.

The album will be released in multiple formats in May for the North American tour.

Sticky Fingers came during the Stones greatest creative years which started with Begger’s Banquet in 1968, Let It Bleed in 1969, Sticky Fingers in 1971 and Exile on Main St. in 1972. Fingers went to number 1 in both the U.S. and the U.K., going three-times platinum in the states. The album spawned two hits, Brown Sugar (1971 / #1 U.S. / #2 U.K.) and Wild Horses (1971 / #28 U.S.).

The new editions of Sticky Fingers follow the worldwide critical and commercial success of the Stones’ two previous deluxe reissues, for Exile itself (which took the album back to No. 1 in the UK in 2010, 38 years after it first topped the chart) and the 1978 classic Some Girls, repackaged in 2011.

The album will be released in the following formats:

CD – Original album & 12-page booklet

Deluxe Edition (2-CDs) – Original album plus bonus CD and 24-page booklet

Deluxe Edition Box Set (2-CDs/1-DVD) – Original album, bonus CD, DVD, 72-page hardback book, 4 postcards

Super Deluxe Edition Box Set (3-CDs/1-DVD) – Original album, two bonus CDs, DVD, 7″ vinyl single, 120-page limited edition book, print, poster, 4 post cards and mini replica of band cut out

LP – Original album on heavy vinyl with 12×12 insert

Deluxe Double LP Set – Original album and LP of bonus tracks

Standard Download – Original album

Deluxe Download – Original album plus bonus disc

Super Deluxe Download – Original album plus two bonus discs
The first bonus disc includes the alternative version of the chart-topping single Brown Sugar featuring Eric Clapton; unreleased interpretations of Bitch, Can’t You Hear Me Knocking and Dead Flowers; an acoustic take on the anthemic Wild Horses, and five tracks recorded live at The Roundhouse in 1971 including Honky Tonk Women and Midnight Rambler.

The second bonus disc includes Get Yer Leeds Lungs Out! the 13-track audio recording of the Stones’ gig in Leeds in March 1971, shortly before their “exile” in France began. The set included versions of the just-completed Brown Sugar, Bitch and Dead Flowers, one of their many authentic forays into country music territory.

The DVD has two numbers from the band’s famous Marquee Club show of March 26, 1971 while the vinyl 45 is a replica of the Brown Sugar / Wild Horses single.
