The legendary hip-hop group and Jimmy Fallon’s house band The Roots have announced details of their Falls Festival sideshows joined by Aussie favourite Urthboy.

Playing shows in Sydney and Melbourne, the Grammy award-winners have taken a brief holiday from their commitments as house band on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to wow us once again with their distinctive brand of live hip-hop.

Most recently the band have released a critically acclaimed album with Elvis Costello called ‘Wise Up!’ a genre-defying album that blends both of their unique musical styles seamlessly.

If you’ve never had the chance to see the Roots live, the time is now! Their live shows are nothing short of spectacular and showcase the supreme musical talents of each and every member. Don’t be surprised when they pull out cover songs from all genres of music including Pop, Jazz, Funk and Rock.

Joining the Roots for their shows will be the Blue Mountains’ own Urthboy. After finding mass popularity through his work with The Herd and in his successful solo career, Urthboy is the perfect addition to the shows. His latest album ‘Smokey’s Haunt’ has garnered a great deal of critical praise as well as a J Awards nomination for Album Of The Year, and Rolling Stone’s Best Independent Release and Album Of The Year.
