Veteran artists Van Morrison and Mick Hucknall will join forces on Friday, November 1 at London’s Royal Albert Hall for an All-Star Tribute to Bobby Bland.

Bland passed away on June 23 after a 56 year career of singing great blues and R&B including such classics as Farther Up the Road, Turn On Your Love Light and Little Boy Blue.

Morrison has been a life-long fan of Bland’s, recording Love Light while still with Them and Ain’t Nothing You Can Do on his album It’s Too Late to Stop Now.

Hucknall’s first solo album, which he recorded during the final days of Simply Red, was A Tribute to Bobby, a full album tribute to Bland.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.
