You Am I To Perform With The Replacements In London

Australia’s You Am I are heading off to London later this week for shows in London with The Replacements.

“Dreams do come true. The Replacements have requested our company June 2 & 3 at The Roundhouse in London Town. Sorry to say no headline shows for us..this time at least. We’d LOVE to see our European peeps, so come along to these shows,” You Am I posted at their Facebook page.

The Replacements have a special place in rock history. For starters, founder and frontman Paul Westerberg says it was their failure first time around that “cemented the fans”. Westerberg told The Guardian that “the legend grew from us not playing. We weren’t debunking it by not going out”.

Over time the non-reputation grew when people like Glen Campbell recorded their songs (Sadly Beautiful) and Lorde, Miley Cyrus and Joan Jett performed their songs live.

The two London shows will be the only UK shows for The Replacements and only two UK shows for You Am I on this trip.

You Am I have no other scheduled shows for 2015. Lead singer Tim Rogers has just replaced his album with The Bamboos ‘The Rules of Attraction’.

The Replacements with You Am I will perform at The Roundhouse in London on June 2 and 3, 2015.

Tim Rogers and The Bamboos will tour Australia from June 18.

Tim Rogers and The Bamboos dates

June 18, Brisbane, The Triffid
June 19, Sydney, The Metro
June 25, Melbourne, The Corner
July 3, Adelaide, The Gov
July 4, Perth, The Rosemount
