Australian punk legends The Meanies have dug into their vault and pulled out a long-lost gem. Their new single Shutdown, recorded a quarter of a century ago, finally sees daylight today, marking a rare release from one of Melbourne's most enduring and beloved punk acts.

More than a decade after it first captured the ears and hearts of the local music community, Melbourne singer-songwriter Suzannah Espie's Sea of Lights is set to shine again. The award-winning 2012 record will receive its first-ever vinyl pressing via Cheersquad Records & Tapes on 14 November, with Espie marking the release with a series of intimate shows in Melbourne and Archies Creek.

Australian punk veterans The Meanies are set to unleash a slice of lost history. Their long-buried track Shutdown, recorded a quarter of a century ago, will finally see the light of day on October 9. To mark the release, the Melbourne legends will hit the road for a short, sharp run of dates that revisits their roots in sweaty pubs and iconic venues.

Cheersquad Records (AUS) and Folc Records (Spain) will mark the 40th anniversary of one of Australian punk’s most infamous singles, I Can’t Control Myself / Born To Be Punched by James Baker and the James Baker Experience. The limited-edition reissue arrives on October 7, 2025, in five vinyl variants.
