The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards took over New York’s UBS Arena for a night of spectacle, show-stopping performances and landmark wins. Hosted by LL Cool J, the ceremony balanced the best of today’s hitmakers with a nod to icons of the past, including a star-studded tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne that had the entire arena on its feet.

In early August 2025, Dashiel Gables, also known as Divine and formerly employed by hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes, filed a federal lawsuit in the Eastern District of New York. Gables alleges that in January he was physically assaulted by Busta Rhymes during a confrontation in the lobby of the rapper’s Brooklyn residence, and that he endured wage violations and a hostile, abusive working environment.

Busta Rhymes has been charged with assault after allegedly punching a man in the face.

The upcoming Australian tour for TLC, Busta Rhymes and En Vogue has been cancelled.

TLC will be back in Australia (as well as a New Zealand date) in 2024 and this time with Busta Rhymes and En Vogue.

Busta Rhymes is to be honoured with the Icon Award at the 2022 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.
