Sir Tom Jones, Jack Johnson, The Teskey Brothers and Matt Corby lead the first announcement for Bluesfest 2024. (Well, actually the first and a half announcement. Elvis Costello couldn't make 2023 and rescheduled so we already knew that.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.

Bluesfest Melbourne is happening at the Melbourne Convention Centre this weekend and applause to Neil Croker and Peter Noble for curating such an incredible line-up of real musicians under one roof.

Elvis Costello has cancelled his upcoming Australian shows due to “a key member” of the band contracting Covid.

Sticky Fingers have been removed from Bluesfest following public outcry in recent weeks and the withdrawal of major acts King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Sampa The Great over the addition of the band.

More acts, including John Butler and Russell Morris, will perform the Melbourne edition of Bluesfest in April.

Sampa The Great is the second artist to withdrawn from Bluesfest, just a day after King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard quit following the addition of Sticky Fingers.
