At this stage it is unknown who lit the magnesium flare but police are investigating the incident.

Promoter AJ Maddah took to twitter to urge anyone with any information to come forward “so I can hand to police”.

He described the injury as a “massive awful burn on her forearm”. Three people were treated after the incident.

It is believed that a flare was also lit during the performance by Metallica.

Soundwave drew a crowd at 75,000 at Olympic Park at Homebush yesterday (February 24). 82 people were removed from the event, mainly for intoxication.

Soundwave will pull into Melbourne this Friday, March 1 then head to Adelaide on March 2 and Perth March 4.
