Australian Open Lines Up Music Fest For Tennis 2017

The Australian Open has managed to do something good with the same thing the AFL manages to fuck up every year… live music at a sporting match.

“Once again, Mushroom Events is thrilled to be involved in curating the 2017 schedule of artists to perform during the Australian Open,” said Mushroom Group Chairman Michael Gudinski.

“The live music program has grown over the past few years and established itself as a key addition to the greatest Tennis Tournament in the world. The variety of music on offer is appealing to all ages.”

The Australian Open has gathered a credible line-up of Australian and international acts including a superband featuring Jon Stevens, Daryl Braithwaite and Ross Wilson.

Missy Higgins has teamed with Archie Roach, The Temper Trap with Jack River and DMA’s with Bad//Dreems along with performances by The Living End, Birds of Tokyo and Jimmy Eat World for nine days of live music at the Australian Open in Melbourne in January.

Some of the shows including Missy Higgins and Tkay Maidza are free.
