Justin Bieber Given More Time To Complete Probation

Justin Bieber has been granted more time to complete his probation by a judge.

The 21-year-old was charged with vandalism after egging his neighbour Jeff Schwartz’s home in Calabasas, California in January last year. He paid out $80,000 to the man and was put on probation.

The singer has already completed the anger management and restitution elements and on Monday, Page Six reports Superior Court Judge Leland Harris granted the star more time to complete the community service part of his probation.

Justin now has until later in the year to fulfil his five days of roadside cleanup, graffiti removal or other manual labour.

His progress had been delayed because of serious ankle injury and while Justin did not attend the hearing, the judge felt that his good behaviour and commitment to his probation granted him an extension.

While the Baby singer had a series of run-ins with the law last year, in recent months he has focused on being a good citizen and role model to his fans.

Last week the star announced he would be releasing the first single off his new album later this month called What Do You Mean. Justin hopes the pop track will have a positive influence on its listeners.

‘I’ve been working a lot in the studio, just trying to have a consistent sound, a cohesive sound,’ he explained to Ryan Seacrest. ‘I get in my head a lot and I get kind of depressed because I want it to work so badly. I want people to love it. I want to inspire people. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Is this good enough? Is this the direction I want to go?’ I had kind of a rough week last week. I get in my head and I don’t want to get out of bed sometimes.’
