The classic ‘Morning Of The Earth’ surfing soundtrack has been re-recorded by some of Australia’s biggest more recent artists including Busby Marou and Matt Corby.

Western Australia’s POND, Xavier Rudd and The Autumn Defense are some of the other artists involved in the project, marking the 40th anniversary of one of the world’s most successful surf films.

The original 1972 movie featured original songs by Brian Cadd, G. Wayne Thomas, Taman Shud and John J. Francis. The original soundtrack generated the hit song ‘Open Up Your Heart’ by G. Wayne Thomas in 1972. The album was named one of the Top 100 Best Australian albums of alltime.

Warner Music will reissue the original album was a double CD with the new version of the soundtrack in January.
