Michael Paynter has a hit record on his hands for an album that he has had sitting on the shelf for a year. ‘Money On Your Tongue’ is Michael’s acoustic record.

‘Money On Your Tongue’ has debuted at no.2 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart this week and at no.3 on the Australian iTunes chart.

Michael produced the album. It features reworked originals and some covers like ‘Roxanne’ and ‘Devil In Disguise’.

“This is a gift for my fans, made for the people who continually support my musical career whether in it is my solo music or touring with Icehouse. This album is from me to them as a gift of gratitude,” Michael said in a statement.

Michael has been busy touring as part of the Icehouse band. He will continue to tour with Icehouse in 2012 and spend time off the road working on his next studio album.

Icehouse will tour with Hall & Oates across Australia from February 2.
