The Cat Empire Play 1000th Show

The Cat Empire turned 1000 shows old on Friday night with a hometown gig for the people of Melbourne.

Federation Square in the centre of Melbourne was ground zero for the 1000th Cat Empire show.

The Cat Empire showcased their recent ‘Steal The Light’ album and performed songs from their first two albums ‘The Cat Empire’ (2003) and ‘Two Shoes’ (2005).

In the band’s 10 years of existence The Cat Empire have performed to over 6 million people, sold 1.5 million albums and have used 12000 hotel rooms. In all of that time they have only ever cancelled one gig.
