‘I Beat Loneliness’ felt like the third part of a trilogy to me. If 1999’s ‘The Science of Things’ addressed emotional disconnection and human isolation and more recently 2020 ‘The Art of Survival talks of modern chaos, and emotional resistance then ‘I Beat Loneliness’ has our hero facing down emptiness and emerging stronger. It has a happy ending with an emotional victory for the hero, being Gavin.
